From Facebook Newsfeed To The Dinner Table!

This morning I was laying in bed scrolling through all my social media, updating myself on the things that had happened the while I was asleep.  I noticed one of those food videos, you know, we have all seen them; they usually show us how to make this quick delicious food while also making our stomach growl.  Also am I the only one who wonders if any one really replicates these recipes? Anyhow, this one was different and stood out from the rest.  While most of the food related videos seem to be over indulgent foods that are high in fat and calories, this one was actually quite healthy!  Recently Zak and I decided we needed to start eating more fresh, clean, and simple; so this recipe was perfect! I gathered all the ingredients and was excited to make it for dinner!  It was so easy, delicious, and filling and left us feeling great and not bloated!  So without further aeidu here it is!
Alright this is what you will need for the marinate and reserve salad dressing:

1/2 tbsp Garlic Powder,1/2 tbsp minced garlic, 1/2 tbsp salt and pepper, 1/2 cup olive oil, 1/2 water, juice from a whole lemon, 1/3 cuo apple cider vinegar, 1/3 cup chopped parsley, 1/3 cup chopped basil

You will mix all the ingredients into a bowl, and set aside 3/4 cup for the reserve salad dressing.

One you set aside your reserve dressing you can add your chicken thighs or breast into the bowl to marinate.  At this point I heated up a cast iron skillet.  Once the skillet was heated up I placed the chicken in and let them cook till they were golden brown.

Meanwhile while the chicken was cooking I washed and chopped the lettuce and spun it out to dry it!  I absolutely love my salad spinner, if you do not have one they are totally worth the investment!

To this salad I added chopped tomatoes, cucumber slices, sliced black olives, avocado, goat cheese, chicken, and another squeeze of half of a lemon!

This salad was absolutely delicious and was super quick and easy to make!  I was so glad that Zak enjoyed it and has mentioned that he would like to have it again which is a win in my book!

An empty plate or bowl is the stamp of approval in this house! I hope you all give this salad a try and let me know what you think!  Thank you for stopping by! XOXO < < < < Really hard not to say gossip girl after that> > > >

Taste of Starbucks At Home!

I have absolutely been loving this cool refreshing drink that I normally pick up from Starbucks! It’s called the “Purple Drink”!  This drink is so tasty and light! The best part is that you can actually make this drink at home and for a fraction of the price!

Let’s start with the line up! You’ll need a measuring cup or coffee mug for your tea, I like to use a measuring cup because I can see how much water I am using.  You will also need coconut milk or soy milk.  I chose unsweetened vanilla for a light vanilla taste with half the calories of sweetened vanilla.  You will need a glass filled with ice to the brim with a straw to stir your drink after all component are poured in.  Also you’ll need Vanilla sugar free syrup, mine is from Starbucks but I know you can buy these on Amazon.  A box Tazo passion fruit tea, which you can pick up at Sprouts or Target.  Last but not least you’ll need a tea kettle, I received this Kate Spade kettle for Christmas and I absolutely adore it!  If you do not have a kettle you can microwave your water in a mug for 45 seconds or until hot.

First things first, boil the water and let the tea bags steep for 4-5 minutes.  I have been using two because I enjoy this drink more when the tea is a bit stronger.  I fill the measuring cup up to about the 1 1/2 cup line and let it steep then cool down for about 15 minutes.

After I have let the tea steep and cool, I then add three pumps of the sugar free vanilla to the cup containing the ice!  *Depending on your taste buds you may want more or less! I recommend starting with less because you can always add another pump! *

I then fill the cup 75% up with the Tazo Passion Fruit Tea, and the rest with the coconut milk!

I then give it a good stir and it’s all ready for you to enjoy!  The Starbucks version does also include frozen berries which you could add in!  With summer right around the corner this drink this drink is quickly becoming a staple in my book!

I hope y’all give this refreshing drink a try and let me know if you enjoy it!

Thanks for reading! Please let me know if you have any suggestions! 🙂

Milani lipsticks, Why You Need Them In Your Makeup Bag!

As women we usually always have a Holy Grail make up item that we just can’t live without.  Unfortunately, I can’t just put a finger on just one item, I guess I’m a little too high maintenance for that. Fortunately though my holy grail lipstick is actually from the drugstore! I guess we could say my husband got lucky on that end! I first discovered Milani lipsticks a few years back when I was walking through my local drugstore. The lipstick stood out immediately to me because it was on sale, come on girls who doesn’t love a good sale! I love how these lipsticks have the realistic color on the bottom of the tube, it makes picking the colors so much easier!

I took a good long 30 minute look at the lipsticks and decided to buy two. Am I the only one that will somehow send a half hour in the make up aisle without even realizing it? Anyways, I got to my car and I immediately tried them on I have never been good at being patient and waiting until I arrive home!  These lipsticks were rich, smooth, and pigmented!  The formula felt high end but the price felt even better! From the moment on I knew that we were a match made in heaven! Since then Milani has come out with a collection of matte lipsticks as well.  To be completely honest I can not say that I am impressed with these.  They are overly drying on my lips and often apply patchy and uneven.

This is the only flaw I have yet found with these little jewels.  I am absolutely crazy about these long lasting creamy lipsticks and hope you will be as well!  They have a variety of colors that work well for different seasons as well as different skin tones!  I hope you all have a lovely week, and if Monday gets you down go and pick one of these beauties and your day will surely turn around! Until next time!

First.
